Business Analytics Admissions

Designed for both career advancers and career changers, the Online Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) program at William & Mary aims to develop students’ ability to derive insights from data and to situate those insights for the health of an organization’s bottom line.

Because of our program’s rigorous emphasis on quantitative skills such as statistics, probability and algebra, as well as business acumen, our Online Admissions Team looks for prospective students who have demonstrated strong mathematical aptitude and a history of workplace experience. Qualified applicants may come from a variety of academic backgrounds—ranging from computer science and liberal arts to business and economics—but their professional and personal achievements should indicate their ability to benefit from our robust curriculum.

To qualify for admission, applicants must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
  • Two years of professional work experience OR they must otherwise prove their business acumen

How Can You Prove Business Acumen?

Applicants who do not have two years of relevant professional work experience can alternatively prove their business acumen in two different ways.

  • Alternative #1
Successfully complete a prior undergraduate or graduate program in business or coursework in corporate finance, accounting, marketing and operations
  • Alternative #2
Successfully complete the following courses with certification:
    • Introduction to Corporate Finance
    • Introduction to Financial Accounting
    • Introduction to Marketing
    • Introduction to Operations Management
