How to Qualify for a GMAT or GRE Waiver

GMAT/GRE Score Reports are an ideal way to prove that applicants have a solid quantitative foundation and can succeed in our rigorous program. However, William & Mary’s Online Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA) is intended to accommodate all passionate and intellectually curious professionals, no matter their standardized test scores or lack thereof. For those who wish to demonstrate their quantitative capabilities by alternative means, GMAT/GRE waivers will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To ensure preparedness for the Online MSBA program, applicants pursuing a GMAT/GRE waiver must satisfy one of the following options:

  • Option A
Pass the W&M GMAT Waiver Math Assessment with a minimum score of 75 percent. If this option is selected, the applicant will be required to complete prerequisite courses “Probability & Statistics” and “Linear Algebra,” and must earn a grade of “B” or better in both courses
    Complete the W&M Math Assessment
  • Option B
Possess a graduate degree in a STEM field with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Option C
Have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) in the last three quantitative undergraduate courses taken. The following parameters will apply when qualifying coursework:
    • Sophomore level courses or above
    • Math: Calculus 1 or higher
    • Calculus-based physics and some finance coursework may be acceptable. Additional documentation, including course descriptions, may be required
